FM115 Electric Outboard Motor by Flux Marine – High Performance with Zero Emissions

The Flux Marine FM115 is a powerful, next-generation electric outboard motor designed for demanding boating applications where efficiency, reliability, and driving comfort are paramount. With a continuous power of 86 kW (115 hp) and an acceleration power of up to 130 kW (175 hp) at the propeller, the FM115 offers a level of performance that is in no way inferior to classic combustion engines in this class – but without noise, exhaust fumes, and oil changes.

Thanks to its modular energy storage system and integrated control electronics, the FM115 is ideal for recreational, work, and service boats that are to be operated in a future-proof and emission-free manner.

    Modular Energy Storage System (ESS)

The FM115’s energy storage system (ESS) is based on high-voltage battery modules with an integrated battery management system (BMS). The modules reliably supply the motor with energy and, thanks to the modular architecture, enable the drive power and range to be designed to meet requirements. This means that the system can be flexibly adapted to different boat hulls, application profiles, and range requirements.

    Integrated System Components

The FM115 system consists of much more than just the outboard motor. It is a fully integrated electric drive system with all relevant components:

    • Outboard motor: Central drive system
    • ESS (Energy Storage System): Up to three high-voltage battery modules (system can be expanded), each with BMS for safe energy supply to the motor.
    • 12V on-board battery: Separate 12V supply for the remaining on-board consumers and control electronics.
    • Power Distribution Unit (PDU): Central power distribution unit
    • Helm Interface Panel (HIP): Contains the helm I/O unit, the IOT unit and the GPS module.
    • Garmin Display: High-quality user interface for drive data, battery information and driving parameters
    • Throttle: Enables precise control of speed, direction of travel and trim/tilt of the motor.
    • Ignition switch (key switch): Used for user authentication and release of the system.
    • Start button: Activates the motor after successful release.
    • Emergency stop & motor emergency stop fuse: Safety devices for immediate shutdown of the motor in an emergency, including man-over-board scenarios.
    • Cable set: Custom cable harnesses that are individually manufactured to length for each hull design and provided with protective sleeves.
